Travelling would help broaden students’ minds and challenge themselves by learning something new. Two speakers shared their travelling experiences in a recent talk held at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
The event was held on 23 November at BT147, organised by Alumni Association of Tionghua Society in collaboration with Han Chiang High School and Student Progressive Front USM.
According to the event moderator, Teoh Keng Yong, students can understand their journey in chasing their dreams throughout this sharing session.
“We can feel their courage, passion and relate ourselves with their journey. This inspires us to think about our own life and future as well”, she said.
The two speakers, Koay Lee from Lingnan University, Hong Kong, shared her experience in exploring South East Asia for a year and discovered her passion in learning local histories. While, Stephanie from Hong Kong, shared the challenge that she faced when her parents disagreed on her take about travelling.
“For me, it is just a closed dialogue between parents and children”, she added.
She advices students not to be someone mediocre in place that they do not like. Students should try to put their best effort in the things that they are really passionate in.
